Restaurent review: Indigo Deli, R city mall, Ghatkopar, Mumbai

Recently, we visited a very nice place to dine out in Mumbai. We wanted to try some real good Italian food. Italian, because, it provide many vegetarian options and it used to be our surviving kit, during our stay in Europe. So, with few recommendations, we decided to visit the Indigo Deli, located in the R city mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.

One of the most interesting aspect of European restaurants is their interior. It takes you to a different zone. Especially, those little old restaurants, with some associated legacy. It may be a sports bar, or a cafe, the interiors are awesome. Little darkish, with only available lights in the  shades of yellow, mostly dim. At other times, may be we won't appreciate such a light arrangement, but for those, who at some point of time got acquainted to European's day to day ways of living, would slowly get used to it and start appreciating it over the time.
Similar experience, you can get at Indigo Deli. With little odd ceiling, usual dim light, hand written menu on a black board  in a corner, this place assures a unique ambience, which is relaxing.
The sitting arrangement is also fabulous. You can either have a regular Table-chair arrangement, or there are kind of coupes to sit for a group of around 5-6 people. The coupes also give kind of privacy, if that is what one is looking.  From the major part of the restaurant, people get a view of the chef's place. This could be interesting to see, if a special dish is in preparation. Although, I  didn't get to see any such show.
Coming to the delicacies, the place offers a huge variety to vegetarian as well as non-vegaterians plus a spectrum of drinks. It was really difficult to put to order, because, there were so many things to try and we really didn't wanted to miss any. The server was real patient and gave us enough time to converge to a few dishes. So, finally we ordered a seriously garlic bread, along with soup.
In between, I ordered one of the dishes, I have been longing to eat for some time. It was Cheese Fondue. It was a mix of 3 types of cheese. The taste was little different from the Swiss Fondue, I have tasted earlier. But, the dish did its work. We wanted to spend some quality time chatting, and that's what, cheese fondue helped us to do. It is not a dish, which requires all your attention. You can eat one cheese enveloped bread, enjoy the taste and can chat side by side, with out any big breaks.
Once, done with Cheese fondue, we shifted our attention towards the next dish, Cannelloni of creamed spinach, corn and philly cheese. Now, this is a filling dish, oozing different tastes in mouth in every bite. One dish has 3 rolls, and by the time, you reach the last roll, you realize, it is difficult to go that last mile. But, you don't leave it unfinished and somehow cross the line.
All this you get to experience at Indigo Deli. To add to the experience, while walking out, you can not ignore a glance at different products on retail counter. And the glance does its work. You will no doubt end up buying either the baguette or dough nut or some of the interesting bakery items presented well on the counter.
The only thing which might not be in the favor of the restaurant, is its location. It is located in the mall in such an isolated area, that, you will surely miss, if you are not specifically looking for Indigo Deli. Even, the direction boards to the restaurant are not easily visible. One reason behind such an isolated location, might be to avoid unnecessary crowd of the mall, walking next to the restaurant. But, that thinking is way to much to provide an isolated place.

Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal: What exactly are you trying to do?

Mostly, I avoid writing on politics, but, I have been wondering about few things recently, and  hence, this post. Two people have been in news for last few days and for all wrong reasons.
One of them is Rahul Gandhi. I am really wondering, what is he trying to do? The way it appears to me, he is trying to play politics out of anything. He has unnecessarily blown up the present issue of National Herald. The court has summoned the Gandhis to appear in court, because the court probably found some concrete reasons to do so. How is this a political vendetta? Why should you answer about it in parliament, when you have been invited in the court to do so? You have been stalling parliament from functioning for all wrong reasons. You did it in monsoon session using Lalitgate and Vyapam ghotala. What happened to that? Did you follow it up? Or as it seems, they were just the reasons to stall the parliament from functioning.  Now, you are doing it again. This time you are using National Herald and some comment made by V. K. Singh, which sounds a lot construed. This is not helping you. People are watching. They can see, you are not helping, but becoming a barrier in the development of the country. Your party is already down to the lowest score ever in Loksabha. Instead of trying to build the party and make big gains, you are trying to get advantage from small ripples, not even waves. With such tactics, I don't see your party having any great future.

Another person is Arvind Kejriwal. Now, he has the charge of Delhi. I can not really say, how he is performing. For that, some one from the place need to be asked. But what I  am wondering are some of his comments and decisions which are coming in to limelight. I was awestruck, when, he increased the salary 4 times for all the parliamentarians. He himself will be earning as per the news, some where around 2.25 lakhs per month. I wonder why? His logic as I read is, with huge salaries, the parliamentarians won't have the urge to fall for corruption. That is arguable.
2-3 days back, he commented about the death of a 6 month old child during slum demolition. The news coming out, is the child died much before the demolition started. So, Arvind Kejriwal is giving comments, even before confirming the information. That is not expected from you. We have seen you talking during Anna's fight against corruption, always with the details in hand and to the point. This new avtar of Kejriwal is surprising us.
Yesterday's comment really made us loose respect for you. You are calling the Prime Minister of India as a coward and psycopath. I am wondering, if you have any basis to prove your allegations, or, have you just started blabbering anything now. It was uncalled comment. It made me wonder, are you the right decision taken by the people of Delhi?
These are two people, who literally have power in their hand and they can actually do wonders with that power. It may not be full power. With lots of restrictions, but still, you have power in hand. Make proper use of that power, and do something constructive, rather than pushing unnecessary words to the media.

and why all such things are directly connected to Narendra Modi? He is a prime minister, who has a responsibility to run a country, which, a prime minister in India, it seems like doing for the first time. We all can see, he is always involved in some or the other activity, promoting India.

An evening at the Gateway of India

After many unsuccessful attempts, we finally went to the Gateway of India to spend an evening there.
Why unsuccessful attempts? I am in Mumbai for almost 3 years. In these 3 years, we planned to visit the Gateway of India numerous times. But every time, some thing came up and that plan had to be postponed. Even this time, we actually planned it for last Wednesday, so that, there will be less crowd. We keep hearing that, there is a problem of car parking near the venue. So, Wednesday. But on Wednesday evening, when I reached home from office, I suddenly found half of the family members unwell with cold, fever, cough and what not. I wondered and postponed it to Saturday. Again on Saturday, things did not work out. I am still thinking, what were the reasons that cancelled the plan. One of the highlighting reason is the delayed entry of our Kaamwali bai, who extended her stay to the point where, regular daily soaps would start, resulting in half of the members dropping from the plan.

So, finally, yesterday, I gave an ultimatum, if nobody else is ready, I will alone go out. Luckily, the kaamwali bai also decided to take off on the day, keeping no restrictions to keep us back. So, I was taking a risk of going to a famous tourist spot on Sunday evening. Reaching there, is not an issue. With the Eastern expressway, it is now much easier to reach this destination avoiding all the  traffic on the way. The problem might begin, once you reach there. As soon as we reached near the spot, first thing, we observed is the road leading to the destination is closed every Sunday between 10 a.m. to 8.00. p.m. So, we had to search for a way to go close to the Gateway of India, where we can park our car and walk to the gate. Luckily we managed to find a road and also found a place to park the car. The car parking is Rs. 60/- here. How much official this parking is, I do not know.  A note of caution here, I am sharing. Please make it a point to clear with the person, to pay money in the end or while parking itself. The guy asked me to pay upfront. And while leaving again, he was asking for the money. I had to give him a dose to make him realize, that I have already paid.

Moving on, it was an unbelievable crowd. Such spots make you realize, India's population is huge.
Initially, we thought, the crowd has gathered for some program as we could hear some music. But later realized, it is all for the Gateway of India. Although, we had to walk a bit to reach near the Gateway, but, I must say, arrangement made is all real good to control such a huge crowd. We not only could enter the place smoothly, but also got a chance to sit behind the Gateway having a look at all the fleet floating on sea water.
It was a beautiful view. The sea breeze was cold, at times shivering. This officially is the best time to visit Mumbai. With the setting Sun, the surrounding also turned beautiful. The Gateway of India, also looked awesome.

But, what caught my attention most was the view of Hotel Taj. It really caught our attention. If people were not taking selfies, then they were catching a glimpse of this beautiful architecture.

A few captures posted here, taken with my not so good mobile camera.
The place is worth visiting. There are ferries available to give a experience of sea routes. Outside, there are places to sit and eat. Although, the cleanliness level here, drops down a bit. Probably, because of the heavy crowd. On other days of the week, it must be a much better place.

With all the experience, now, I wish to make it my regular evening outing place. Let's see, when do I get a chance to visit again.

Spectre: Review

Recently, I watched another movie. Immediately, after watching Katyar Kaljat Ghusli. The decision to watch this movie was instinctive. Since, I had seen a Katyar Kaljat Ghusli after a long gap, Somewhere, I felt like giving a try to another movie. And, I thought, which other movie I can opt than a bond movie.
Frankly speaking, while, Pierce Brosnan was playing Bond, I used to feel, what bullshit movie are these. I just couldn't digest the idea of a person trying to sail over a wave made out of a breaking glacier with the help of a parachute, out of a racing car, and then even landing safely on the other side.  It was an overdose for me. I even equaled bond movies to a crazy movie like "Shoot 'Em up".
But then came, Daniel Craig as a new bond in Casino Royal. He brought some realistic sense to the bond movies, although, that goes against the normal expectation from the figure of a bond. Just in first 15 minutes in Casino Royal, and I confirmed, Daniel Craig is the best bond, I have witnessed. But that was it. While bringing the image of Bond closer to the reality, somehow, whole notion of an awesome spy, who could charm anybody by his skills and looks, and get the work done, just vanished.
This Bond became more vulnerable. Physically, mentally as well as emotionally.
Then came his next segment "Skyfall". I missed it for some reasons, I ccan not remember now. When I watched it later on, I got disconnected with the Bond movie. I thought, its over. The aura of Bond movies is gone.
Somehow, probably, I don't wanted to believe it and so instinctively, I went to watch Spectre. Now, I feel, I could have saved some money. The movie really disappointed me. The physical strength of Daniel Craig, which got connected to the image of Bond, is not visible here. The first 15 minutes of the movie, are disappointing. It is nowhere near the 15 minutes of Casino Royale. It also confirmed that this bond has become less smart and end up taking hasty decision. The way, he wasted an awesome car was painful. Earlier Bonds did not need to be introduced to the features of car, they knew it some how. This Bond is praying, let there be any helpful feature in the car.
The story is interesting. In context with present scenario, a competition between drone and spy, is something new to watch, rather than same old story of a terrorist group trying to take hold of a nuclear bomb, or a plant.
Work is, it was fine. It is good to Monica Bellucci in the Bond movie.
Music is disappointing. The famous Bond music is used very rarely, very subtle, so much that we just don't realize it.
Initial credit score music piece is not at all impressive.
All in all, a disappointing movie. I could have and should have for the movie to be released on TV.
I should have preferred Hunger Games, a new series, that I found really exciting.

But anyway. If you haven't watched the movie yet, save your money.

Chennai flood- devastating

Chennai flood has been playing havoc. Fortunately, it is seizing down slowly. But what devastating effect it had, and what people of Chennai were going through for last couple of days is beyond explaining in words.
I received a video footage about Chennai flood on one of the whatsapp groups, I am member of. Mostly, I avoid watching videos shared on whatsapp, but, I happened to see this one and what I saw, is really scary.
That's why, I decided to share it here. Whoever, has made this video, really gave us a glimpse of the strength of water and how vulnerable we are infront of it.
After searching a bit around, I finally found a link in youtube to watch this video and share it here.
Here, I am embedding this video footage by Live9 TV

You too ! Aamir Khan

Every day, a celebrity appears in news, all because of the statements, they give in public. Most recent inclusion in the list is of the perfectionist, Aamir Khan. He made a statement on behalf of his wife, Kiran, who apparently is worried for the safety of his child. She is scared of even opening newspaper, wondering what new news might hit her. Now, I ended up  wondering about few things.
Every body is asking, whether Aamir asked Kiran, which country she want to shift to?
I, on the other hand, wanted to ask, what was his response to her worry. Did he agree with her views? Whether he discussed with her about probable country worth shifting? or did he try to convince her that her worry is not true picture of India, and India is the best place on earth to live?

What I heard and read doesn't include any statement about his views. What does he believe? Whether he wish to answer the critics or not is different, but he should speak out about his own point of view regarding the issue. ( I am expecting his clarification, only because he has made a controversial statement, and that too with the gun on some one else's shoulder.)

Second thing which arise is, where all did Kiran go to experience intolerance. Can she highlight few incidences which can explain her growing worry. I do not believe, she has any personal experience in this regard. There must be only one source for her to gain information - media.  If one puts on TV and check any news channel, now a days, only one thing is being discussed - Intolerance and how it is growing in last 7-8 months. If a person keeps listening such discussion every now and then, his mind starts getting saturated with that topic and his perception will start changing. Possibly, Kiran fell pray to this stunt and created her own impression that intolerance in India is increasing. One thing for sure is, in a city like Mumbai, you can not really feel intolerance. People here, just have not time for that.
So, this has to be an impression inherited by Kiran and transferred to Aamir, all from media.

The media is the biggest culprit here. They are painting a picture, which probably doesn't exist. Or may be there are few incidences here and there ( which used to happen earlier too),  but by connecting them through some weak link and making a big story out of it, media is just trying to mint money. Check any talk show, and the participants are just blabbering with real stuff discussed. Rather than finding solution on such issues, media is trying to ignite it more and more.
The end result is, people like who otherwise literary ignore such unnecessary chaos, also at some point of the time, gets involved. Just the way, I am writing this post. If the media is not controlled in time, it will end up igniting this issue to such an extent, that unknowingly and unnecessarily it will lead to polarization making this society unstable.
Freedom of speech is a must and necessary, but it doesn't mean freedom of being irresponsible. Today's media is behaving irresponsibly and only for their personal interest. They some how are managing to get even celebrities involved in this stunt.

I urge every body to act responsibly. Do not give statements which leads to controversy and misunderstanding.
Finally, being scared of situation and believing in media hype might happen to any body, but to think of leaving country as a solution to it is simply not acceptable.

Katyar Kaljat Ghusli - review

Katyar Kaljat Ghusli is the first Marathi movie, I have ever watched in theater. It is also my first movie watched after a break of almost 2.5 years in theater. Last movie, I watched was Ironman III. And it was not a great experience to spend money on.
So, after reading many reviews, listening to experiences of those closed ones who watched it, I, one fine day, decided to watch this movie.
Now, I have seen this play earlier, where Rahul Deshpande plays the role of Khan Saheb, and it was an impressive performance. Subodh Bhave, there, played the role of Kaviraj, and he made that role look significant. A comparison between the play and the movie is thus inevitable.
Let's talk of movie first. Songs are all awesome. The most beautiful part of the movie. Surprise package:  Shankar Mahadevan. He has really brought the character of Pandit ji in reality. Ofcourse, he must not have to take any extra efforts for the lip sinking on his own songs. But, he managed to protray different age shades of the character very well. I actually believed him as an old Panditji from his body language. Only scene, where I didn't feel connected is the one where he looses his voice near the lake. There was too much of special effect tried in there.
Subodh Bhave has also done a fantastic job. He has actually enacted the singing style of Mahesh Kale, who has given him voice. A similarity I found between movie and play where Mahesh Kale himself played this character. What I couldn't digest is a slight aggressive nature induced in this character. The play protray this character as a person, who just want to learn music. The feeling of revenge, never appears in the play for this character.
The weak link of this movie, according to me is Sachin's Khan Saheb. People may say, that he has done an awesome job, but I personally felt it more of overacting. After watching Rahul Deshpande as Khan Saheb, I just couldn't digest him in the character. I feel he was supposed to induce egoistic nature in the character because of the singing prowess he has achieved over the years. But, here, it seems like a mixture of hatred, revenge and egoistic nature ( without even actually  defeating Pandit Ji). Sachin has survived only because of dialogue delivery in Urdu, else, I consider him as a weak link here.
All other characters are fine. Mrunmayi Deshpande and Amruta Kahnvilkar are ok.
I felt bad about the character of Kaviraj. Compared to the play, his character in the movie has been degraded badly. It has been made pretty much unwanted.

Inspite of this, over all, the movie is good. It is worth spending money on. It does not give you complete satisfaction, but it provides you some old tunes ( redone here) to humm in spare time.

Rest in peace, Wings of Fire

Today is a sad day for India. India has lost the most beloved president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. Kalam a renowned scientist, who later became the president of India. His contribution in every field is well known. He was known as Missile Man of India. But, behind this, his views were clear. He don't wanted missile to attack neighboring countries, but, because it requires strength to stand up to another strength. His work as a part of DRDO and ISRO is commendable. His contribution towards the Pokharan nuclear test  is beyond the boundaries of a scientist.
In his form, probably for the first time, India got a president with acclaimed scientific background. He was never called a president of a party, but, in real sense was the president of India.
He was probably one of the few who actually deserved a Bharat Ratna.
Yesterday, even during his last few hours, he was involved in sharing his vast experience with the audience. At that time, he collapsed.
He was an inspiration to all and especially to scientists like us, who need a ray of hope to survive out of their day to day failures in scientific research. He was the one who actually brought President's position in limelight and made people believe that President's position in not just for show, but, it actually has some rights and say in decision making.
This is a big loss we all are suffering, which can never be filled. Even at the age of 83, we feel, it was too early for him to leave us. A person, we all needed to look up for inspiration.

IPL: 2 year suspension of CSK and RR

A very strong decision came out yesterday when CSK and RR, two teams from IPL were suspended for 2 years. This all happened thanks to the owners of these two teams Mayappan of CSK and Raj Kundra of RR. While being an owner of a team, these two people were involved in betting to make some extra cash. It is really saddening to see IPL going down the drain with every new year.
Personally, I really liked the concept of IPL. I followed it, I favored it, I supported it. I founf IPL as a place where new upcoming players will get a chance to showcase their talents, where oldies after retirement will get one last chance to try their hands on bat and ball, where some of the talented players who never got a chance to appear in India XI can make some money before hanging their boots and dreams of playing for the country.
This was the concept which made me support it. The way IPL started was also awesome. But slowly some where things started going wrong right from the second year. Biggest controversy at that time was the treatment given to Dada ( Saurav Ganguly). It was shocking to see the treatment given to him. At the same time, another legend VVS Laxman was also experiencing similar ignorance from his team.
Slowly, things started getting dirtier. More and more of senior players were ignored. Even Rahul Dravid had to change his team. But he proved himself by making RR one of the most consistent side in IPL.
And then this idea of fixing started entering minds of few people. Some where it was said that few matches were fixed, but it did not get proved. Instead, there were some instances of spot fixing which were proved and some of the players were involved in this scam. One of the biggest names was Shrisanth. It was really shocking to see him involved in this fixing.
But the story was only half told till this point. When more pages were turned, bigger names started coming out. And out of some of these pages, appeared the names of Mayappan and Raj Kundra.
Now that their involvement has been proved beyond doubt, its their team which is going feel the heat. There are many players from CSK and RR who do not know, how can they be part of IPL any more. It is no big issue for a player like Dhoni or Ashwin. They are big names and have relatively easier path to walk. But some upcoming players like Samson or Binny or for that matter Rahane who were doing good with in the working culture of RR (groomed by Dravid). But, they will find it difficult to get a place in other team. Their way of playing may not be appreciated by other teams. Just like Pujara, who other wise is a fantastic player but has no place in IPL ( instead he was playing in County cricket during that season), these players may also end up staying away from IPL. The way Praveen Tambe at the age of 42 could make an entry playing for RR and leave a mark in IPL, I do not think other teams would have tried him at all.
All such things will come to an end because of suspension of two teams. By the time they will be allowed to play, many such talents would have lost their chance to prove themselves.

Greece exit averted: For now!

So, Greece succeeded in cracking a deal with European Union and got a bail out and a growth package. Overall it looks like Greece negotiated very well and got a lot more in spite of its situation being at the receiving end. Of course, EU wants some tough stance to be taken by Greece so that situation may at some point of the time normalize.
One of the important aspect asked by EU to Greece is to bring in laws to reform its economy. This will include some heavy decisions to be on the pension scheme and the tax revenue.
EU also expects Greece to liberalize the labor market.
It also expects privatization of electricity networks in the country.
There is also an expectation to keep the shops  open for a longer time, some how making people to spend money and let money come in market, which otherwise is hiding in people's trunk.
EU also wants Greece to design a systematic methodology including formation of a trust fun, a short term bridge financing  to avoid bankruptsy.
In return, EU will do all possible things to keep Greece with in EU. It will also be taking help of IMF in providing assistance to the country.

All said and done, the worse is not over, just postponed for some more time. Surprisingly, this deal had a positive effect on our stock market. Though, the fall wasn't that significantly observed during the fall out few days back, the positive approach has really boosted the stock market. For a change, after a long time, the market was appearing green.
Lets see how things take turns in future. It is too early too speculate anything, but according to me, it will be a miracle, if Greece will come out of bankruptsy and stabilize its society in near future.

Greece: Twist in the tale

The Greece story is writing new pages in history. This is a story which started a lot earlier by started creating interest since say 2011. Lot of things started happening back then. Check these pages of the story.
At some point of the time, the story apparently was coming to an end, probably a happy ending. But all was not well. Greece, on one hand was running short of money, but, on the other hand, do not wanted to reduce the level of their standards of living.  This was the point of conflict of interest.
The European Union (EU) wanted to put restrictions which will make Greece thrifty. But, Greece do not want to compromise with their standard of living. Greece, major part of expenditure is associated with the Pension schemes. EU wanted to bring this expenditure under control. A lot has been happening on this front.
Finally, yesterday, the people of Greece voted for decision whether to accept European Union's conditions. Based on this it will be decided whether EU will decide whether to continue helping Greece or to let them leave EU.

Result of the voting is out now and people of Greece have decided to stand against the conditions being imposed by EU. They are apparently ready to leave EU and accept the condition bankruptcy.
There is another angle to this decision taken by people of Greece. With this decision, Greece probably will be in a condition where they will negotiate with EU to relax the conditions put on them. EU as such do not want any of the country to leave. Because if Greece leaves, there are other countries including Spain, Ireland, Portugal waiting in line and then EU will kind of become meaningless.

It will interesting to see now, how this story unfolds in future. The next few pages of the story are going to be very interesting and probably effecting every one of us in some or the other way.

Panga lena sikho!

This advertisement reminded of initial days of IPL when some interesting ads would start making round making people's neck turn, wait for a minute and watch an advertisement. Even a funny take on the game would make it a hit. Looks like, just as IPL became a big hit, this league of our Desi sport Kabaddi has started gaining popularity. That is the reason why such an ad could be created.

This latest advertisement for Prokabaddi league made me wait and watch it. Initially I did not understand what is happening and appeared some thing just funny. But when it was connected to Prokabbadi league towards the end, it got fixed in mind that Prokabaddhi league is starting soon. I feel this is the best way to reach to people and make them realize about a event. Had the ad been presented in any other fashion, I probably would not have paid any attention. But this is a good development and it will help attracting more people to watch the game.
I enjoyed this ad a lot and that's why sharing with you all.

A rainy day in Mumbai

Since yesterday, any news channel you open, its occupied by Mumbai rain.Mumbai was lashed by heaviest ever rain in the month of June. At places it recorded as big as 530 mm of rainfall. Of course, necessary preparations were not in place to tackle such high rainfall. What resulted was a chaos everywhere. The rain disturbed day to day activities of Mumbai city. First and foremost effect was observed on the traveling routes.
The lifeline of Mumbai is its local train service. If local trains are stopped, every thing stops. That's  what happened yesterday. Most of the railway tracks in the low lying areas were underwater. One snap of Chuna Bhatti station showed water filled till the platform level. There were jokes making round on whatapp saying, "India has developed first train that runs on water. Japan and Germany are jealous of India".
All the commuters who have to use locals couldn't get out of their starting stations because all the locals were stopped.  Alternative to locals is road way. BEST also has efficient transportation system in Mumbai. Infact at most of the places buses were traveling. But, even these routes were filled with water enough upto the levels of car bumper. At places, even the half of the trucks were seen under water.
Those roads where there was no water clogging were clogged with all kinds of vehicles. Forget, buses or cars, even two wheelers which otherwise finds it easy to make space to move ahead were stuck at places. And once, you are stuck in this traffic, you are stuck for a big time. You can neither move ahead through this traffic nor can you leave your vehicle on road. The only option was to stay back at home. Those who news early morning, stayed back home.
But then there are enthusiasts, who wants to convert these moments into adventurous ones. There are many spots in Mumbai where you can see sea water reaching upto roads. Yesterday was also a day for high tide coinciding with the heavy rains. As a result, sea was at its best with tides as high as 4.5 mts hitting the shore. And obviously, there will be mumbaikars who wants to get drenched with these high tides.
But deep inside, sea had turned into monster. It was advised to all the fishermen not to enter the sea. A look of sea from Worli-Bandra sea link would have made one think whether it was right decision to climb up on this route.
Overall, it was an altogether different experience. It could have reached the disastrous stage of July 26, 2005. But some how with all the information available on news, internet, it was possible to tackle the day without any big mishap.

P.S: All the photos were taken from internet.

Air Bike - Dream coming true!

All the followers of Sci-Fi movies must be craving a vehicle  which will individually take him/her from one place to another through air. Even the non Sci-Fi followers must have at some point of time, thought about a mode that will help them avoid every day road traffic.
With time, all such expectations and dreams are turning into reality. A bike that literally fly through air will soon be hitting markets. Two relevant names have been making rounds now a days among the enthusiasts.
Flike
A Hungarian project where such a vehicle is called "Flike" is one of the leading group coming up with this idea of flying through air. More details of the project can be found a:

Their basic concept is to use the technique of Helicopters. An animation of their idea is given on the site. They have even managed to take first manned trial. A video of the same is embedded along.

All said and done, I will be little skeptical to sit at the center of three high speed rolling blades. It appears too risky for one thing and second, it will be too cold I guess sitting at the receiving end of three high speed fans.

Another approach is that of Hovercraft. An American company has come up with approach and named it Aero-X Hovercraft. This thing is pretty much finalized and if every thing goes well, it will hit the market by 2017. You can even book your Aero-X Hovercraft by visiting this site:

This thing costs only 85000 $.

Well now it depends on individual how one adapts to this new coming change.
All they say at the moment is this will help you to avoid road traffic, but what will happen to air traffic. Uptill now one had to check left and right to cross the road, but now you will have to check up and down too.

With new facility, new rules also come.

John Nash: Unexpected exit

John Nash (June 13, 1928 – May 23, 2015) died in a car accident 3 days ago.
Most of us probably do not know who this person was and so they don't really bother about his death.
As many as 80% of people who know him, actually know him because of the movie based on his life. "A Beautiful Mind". A very beautiful movie with famous actor "Russel Crowe" playing his character was a big hit and even won 4 Academy Awards.
But for those who knew him for his work, practically worshiped him. In spite of all the ailments he went through, he emerged as a winner providing so many beautiful theories which find regular applications in diverse fields right from economics, biology and even computer science.
One of the initial work, which actually brought him to surface was his work on Game theory. Out of his observation sitting in a bar, he initiated a theory. According to him if there is a blonde girl with brunette girls as her friends, evrey one should in the group should opt for those brunette girls, so that without any conflict, every one in the group will get a girl and everybody wins. If on the other hand, one asks blonde girl and she says yes, only one among the group wins. If she says no, other brunettes would also say no, don't wanting to be the second choice. With this example he tried to disprove his competitors theory who coined the term "every man for himself".
His life story had many ups and downs. It included his ailment where he learnt to live with hallucinations. He came over these obstacles and made a such great impact that he was awarded presetigious Nobel Prize for this work.
Very recently, just on May 19 he received another such prestigious award in Oslo, Norway.
Little did he know that an act of unnecessary overtaking by a cab driver who probably had no idea who is sitting in his cab, brought a sudden end to a beautiful journey.

John Nash was a big name in his field and it is a big loss for all of us.  I hope, his work reaches every person.

India Vs Australia Semifinal World Cup Cricket 2015

Here, we are.
The Semifinal match of India where it will be facing a big team of Australia.
I believe this is going to be the first real test of India  in this World cup.
Although, India did faced some big names in its league matches, but none of them could really  put pressure on Indian squad.
I have already lost interest in India-Pakistan matches. Same is the case with India-West Indies match. I was expecting some real threat from South Africa, but it went badly for the proteas.
Coming from there, today's match will be the first real test for the Indian team. This time, in real sense, the best four teams  made it to the Semi final. It was little heart breaking for me to see South Africa loosing at the penultimate ball. I was routing for that team, all of because of their history (chokers) and some of my small connection with the Country. New Zealand on the other hand, I feel, is a great team only in its backyard.  I don't really remember this team performing any better at any other place in the World. So, I am not supporting  this team.
Coming back to India and Australia, it is really difficult to make any statement on which team will survive today. Both teams are in great form. Just out of insecurity one feels about their own team,  I am feeling, probably, its Australia Vs New Zealand Final. I hope, I am wrong.
As usual, I won't be watching the match, but following from time to time, on Cricinfo.
Let the best team win.
